Some common, others not… focus was put on the image size rather than making this book smaller… so you get a wonderful visual experience of the fish you may already have, or would like to add to your tank. The Range (geographical area in which the fish lives), Habits (aggressiveness, digging behaviour etc.), Water (temperatures, conditions etc), Size (maximum size), Foods, Colours (differences between sexes) are shared regarding each fish. Then plants, health concerns, breeding, getting set up - are all covered with the 1000+ pages of this book! So if you are interested in having a hands-on reference guide to carry with you to your local petstore - so you can find out the needs of that wonderful fish you are interested in purchasing or to keep it in your home, I highly recommend this book! My hubby and I like to go through this book, page by page and creating a wish-list of future purchases… this way, if we happen to come upon something from our wish-list we already know it'll do fine in one of our nine aquariums. Yes, you can say we are a little passionate about fish - as our home is filled with tanks. The peaceful coexistence between us and our fish is a soul filling experience… not only do we choose to give them the best foods and living conditions we can provide - but in turn, they bring a watery beauty to our home while teaching our children the value of respecting all life - regardless of the size or 'voice' of that life.
