Da… Funny Pages!
with Dan Pelletier

There's this old joke:
"Knock knock"
"Who's there?"
"God"
"Cool, whatcha got for me?"

As I move along through life, I often just stop and look around. I like to see if there's a parallel path. Later I'll see if it's still parallel.

If it is - I'm in a rut - not on a path. And the difference between a rut and the grave is merely the depth.

And it's also true that most well-traveled paths lead nowhere.

Which reminds me of a story…

A man was chased off a cliff by a tiger. He fell, and just managed to hold onto a branch. Six feet above him stood the tiger, snarling. A hundred feet below, a violent sea lashed fierce-looking rocks. To his horror, he noticed that the branch he was clutching was being gnawed at its roots by two rats. Seeing he was doomed, he cried out, "O Lord, save me!" He heard a Voice reply, "Of course, I will save you. But first, let go of the branch!"

We all work for God (whomever we envision Her to be), and sometimes she changes our job description. If I'm not paying attention - all of a sudden - I'm doing somebody else's job - and my job is going undone…
