Meditate A Moment
featuring: Aleesha Stephenson

Grounding ourselves whenever we meditate is so important. It assists us to stay connected while we travel to other dimensions within our mind, or other worlds. When we meditate and are not grounded, we feel light-headed and have a hard time as our mind will often wander rather than opening to the meditation. Then when we are finished meditating it can be hard to walk or even finish a sentence! So please remember to ground yourself before beginning any meditation.

Let's begin.

Take three deep cleansing breaths, IN-spiration and exhale all the stresses of your day. Again, IN-spiration and releasing any tension in your body and one more… IN-spiration and exhale any residual negativity.

Visualize a star in a nearby galaxy, this is the Heaven Star. A beam of light is coming out of the Heaven Star - feel yourself begin to draw this energy down, through the galaxy, towards Earth. Down through our atmosphere and down down down towards your crown chakra (top of your head). This light moves very slowly into your head, past your eyes, your cheeks, your jaw and into your neck. Then vertebra by vertebra it moves down your spine towards the base of your spine (1st chakra).

As this energy touches the base of your spine you feel it change. Roots begin to develop and weave their way down your legs, past your knees, slowly pushing their way down your calves and into your ankles. You feel them filling your feet and gently reaching out of the soles of your feet and pushing their way into the ground beneath you.

Deep into the Earth they glide, down down down until the roots touch the Earth Star. Winding themselves around the Earth Star they meld with this Star and begin to feed. The energy of the Earth Star pulsates up the roots, up up up through the ground until you feel it entering your feet.

Your roots continue to draw this wonderful grounding energy up, feeding on it, feeling it's weight as you begin to feel ever more connected to the Earth.

Visualize yourself in a field of flowers, thick with scent and colour. Walking toward a distant path, you stop to pick flowers as you slowly make your way.

The path is old and well worn, and your bare feet feel each stone as you make your way along them. As you focus on your feet, you begin to feel yourself walking up an incline. Looking up - you see you are following a path up a mountain.

Although the incline is gentle you begin to feel the weight of your body as you take each step. Stop for a moment and allow all the residual worries and stresses of your life to slide off your back and fall in a pile at the side of the path.

Looking back at your feet and the path directly in front of your feet, keep taking one single step at a time. Don't worry about what's ahead… instead keep your focus on 'now'.

The incline is increasing and once again you are feeling the weight of the baggage you carry with yourself daily. This time, let the problems - those nagging 'can't fix them now' problems just slide off your back and fall into another pile on the side of the your path. If you really want them back, you can pick them up later!

Once again, focusing on your feet and the path immediately ahead of you, begin walking up the ever-increasing incline. Feel any remaining 'stuff' which you don't need to carry with you, slowly fall away from you as you walk. Little piles forming at the side of the path. Let them go, right now… they are not needed.

Looking up from your feet you see a clearing off to the side. Step off this old worn path and follow the grassy one which takes you to this clearing. There is a large solid flat rock hanging over the edge, looking much like a diving board. This is the moment within your life when it's time for you to trust. Just run and jump off this rock! You can see the tops of the trees far down below you as you fall towards the ground.

The wind creates an updraft just as you feel the feathers sprouting from your arms and… you take flight! Soaring over the tops of the trees. Look towards the clear sky, feel the warmth of the sun against your feathers. You are a bird.

Continue flying towards an open body of water and dive down toward it, seeing your reflection upon the crystal clear surface. Marvel in your beauty and grace as you seem to almost float above your reflection.

Gently touching down on the water you find your body changing once again… this time scales replace your feathers as you sink into the depths.

Swim deep into this water, knowing your new fish-vision will assist you to see clearly. Deep at the bottom you see a beautiful chest which your Guardian Angel left for you to find. Open it and remove your gift. Take a moment to receive this gift before continuing on.

Slowly swimming upwards you return to the surface of the water and find yourself at the water's edge. As you begin to swim into the shallow water your human body begins to take form once again as you rise up and step out onto the sandy beach.

Following the edge of the water and again focusing on your feet as you take each step, feel the sand and water beneath your feet and the warmth of the sun against your body.

Farther down the beach you see the piles of your 'stuff' waiting for you. You can pack it all onto your back again if you wish, or you can pick and choose what you want to take with you. Of course you can just leave it all there, it's your decision to make.

When you are done, look off to the right. There's the field of flowers where we began this journey. When you are ready to leave the beach you walk over to the field of flowers and lay down, looking at the sky… knowing you can return to this place anytime you wish. Thank your Guardian Angel for your gift and just feel your body melting into the earth for a few more minutes. Allow your mind to stay clear, staring at the sky…

Now wiggle your toes… and your shoulders… gently bringing yourself back to the present, so you can carry on with your day, more relaxed and focused… knowing the importance of staying in the moment, rather than worrying about your 'next step' because there will always be another step, it will form, you don't have to make it appear!
