Heart-centred philosopher that I am, I intuitively understand love is a real and powerful force. It is the conduit by which something is moved or transferred.

It is my belief each of us resides within the universal cylindrical circle of life's breath. We are unique in our differences and bound together at our core-selves by love. Each of us holds the power to move, direct, and choose for ourselves the state of our holistic health.

A holistic web of love centres body, mind, and spirit therefore binding the health of one to the other. When one is wounded, all are affected. And, it is love for our self which opens the door to healing energies. Love attracts compassionate support as we share with others and participate in an exchange of understanding and empathy. Often, it's hard for some of us to open this door to receive care from others but if we truly appreciate and care for ourselves, we will be moved out of our own way to receive that which we need the most.

The beauty of synchronicity brings this posting from a hospital bed. I have converted this sterile space into a sanctuary of loving comfort and welcome. I have an open door to invite in all healing energy. And even though I have no window, I have filled my space with the grace of the old willow who lives on the bank of the river behind my home. I call her Old Woman because her girth is plentiful and she is proudly stooped by decades of life.

I have sat under her swaying limbs and recognized her power. I love Old Woman and I tell her so. I've opened my heart to her long-lived life. And I saw how lovingly she has sent her roots deep into the soil and with gentle force has woven some of the huge rocks and boulders out of her way, freeing herself to continue to grow and feed from Mother Earth's rich soil.

Many years now, I have gone to Old Woman for many reasons but most often I come away with a centred feeling of love and an appreciation for my friend and teacher.

As I lie here in my bed, her spirit hovers close helping me to love myself. I am a willing receiver of healing not just for my wounded body, but my holistic being and in the end of my life.

Health, it seems to me, is much like a harvest. I believe I do reap what I have sown.

This penny-for-your-thoughts philosopher thinks often about love and its many facets. I have learned much and seen more of life than some, yet not as much as others. I do know for sure I am fuelled by food and water but also fuelled with love. As I lie here, I set aside quiet time to fold my hands over my heart and tell it how much I love and appreciate each beat it makes. It is a powerful electrical force that acts as a conduit for life's breath to fill my lungs.

My love for life is as endless as the circle of life I live in. My love has had the power to generate courage to believe in the cylindrical circle when life doesn't end, but just changes peacefully.

My body, mind, and spirit are healing here in my sanctuary of love.

I choose to live my life with love. I choose courage and peacefulness.

When I cross the sunset of life, releasing my last breath like the scent of rain's thin shadow, I'll scatter the best of who I've become to the winds of the universe; and breathe in unison with the unnamed greatness that lit my Spirit-Fire as I reach up and touch that which I cannot begin to imagine.            

A mystical curiosity about nature and the ability to paint pictures with words gives this gifted writer, public speaker and artist the ability to serve and share with those she walks her journey with. Dj Brown earned a degree in metaphysical ministry and counselling. She was born a sensitive to spirits and finds her abilities enhanced by her spirit guides and earthly teachers. Dj describes her life goal as one of further developing the tapestry of her spirit to reflect the compassionate, loving Source of her being.
