A Spiritually Enlightening Online Magazine. January's Theme: "Path" Finding your path is one of life's pressures, surfacing when experiences have you questioning your life, often moving it from a subtle desire to a longing. Why is it important to know your path and do we ever really find the one we are "supposed" to be on?
Spirituality acts like a moving target that is constantly in motion, never stagnant and static like the bullseye on a dart board. If a person has met their target of spirituality, I would question how truly spiritual he or she is. True spirituality is the knowing that there is more to know and grow towards. Thus I would ask, do we ever really find a "path" we are supposed to be on or are we always growing towards a deeper layer of spiritual existence and that in and of itself is the path?
Being Wiccan can add a complication to this scenario or can act as a catalyst in learning how to grow beyond boundaries that are imposed by society. Wiccan spirituality can give practitioners the extra license to explore, connect to a sense of inner being and listen to the vibrations of deities that are beyond a text. There are no books that can fill in the gaps within your belief system and much of that knowledge will eventually come from pushing boundaries. There are many different deities to connect to, processes to learn, rituals to try and cultures to connect with. The addition of choices within the Wiccan or Pagan path can lend to a constant flexing of the spiritual muscle, leading to a better understanding of who you are within a spiritual world. The road to your path is often just as profound as the path itself.
One of the biggest parts of this spiritual process that is often overlooked is finding the path to oneself. This is true spirituality, when the road to Self pushes a person towards a higher sense of purpose and a connection with a higher power. The connection to Self is the key. The Charge of the Goddess speaks to this in its reference to finding what you seek within yourself or else you will not be able to find it without. Again, the key to any path starts with the key to yourself and from there you are able to find spirituality all around you and in all paths.
