Walk Your Talk
Grateful Fors…

with Aleesha Stephenson

I love being grateful. I believe, 100% within my mind, body and soul that being grateful for what I have is essential to creating happiness within my Self and within my life as a whole. Every day I wake up and thank the Goddess for this beautiful day. I thank Her for the light of the day and beauty of the nature which surrounds me. What the weather is like has nothing to do with being thankful… as I find great beauty in a rainy day. The gorgeous grey sky blessing us with all the moisture to feed and nurture our plants, animals and ourselves! The way the leaves on the trees look when they are wet… ahhh that is beauty!

I take time every day to write down what I am grateful for in an email which I send to my soul-sister. She adds her 'grateful fors' onto the top of the email and sends it back to me. At the end of each month, we save the email and start a new one! Not only does this assist us to remember to be grateful for every moment of every day but it also assists us to increase each other's joy by reading and sharing in this most grateful moment.

I've even started a Yahoo Group where a small group of us share what we are grateful for with each other. Another great way to increase the joy by everyone reading each other's thoughts.

When I lay down at night, I turn on some spiritual music (Garden of Serenity is one of my favourites), start Reikiing myself and spend some time in meditation. When I'm done, I thank the Goddess for the day. I list off all the wonderful little happenings I noticed during the day which brought a smile to my face. I thank Her for my children, hubby, critters, home… and the list goes on. Anything which inspired me is mentioned and remembered within that moment. I always fall asleep with a smile on my face.

Creating my reality is something I cherish. It's not work, but there is effort involved. As creatures of habit, we often get into a rut of focusing more on the negative aspects of our day rather than the positive ones. This is why I start and end my day with light. Every day (not just occassionally). I want to actively focus on the positive, every day in every way possible.

Today I am so happy and grateful for the time I've had to write this article.
