Psychic Powers
by Phil Kotofskie

Would you like to learn how to be psychic? Well, we are all psychic, but that's beside the point. (Just so you know.)

Okay let's continue. Psychic abilities feel like my extended senses. However you feel them, the bottom line is my extended senses inform me, and your extended senses (if that's how you feel them) inform you.

Popurrie, our resident cat psychic, just popped in through her cat door in agreement. As I began to write, Po felt my vibrations… the ripples in our collective sea of energy.

Our agreement coincided with her desire for an afternoon snack, with my desire to see her, and with our mutual desire for holding and petting. We basked in our energy. She thought of tuna. I thought of salmon and felt that tuna would be fine. We laughed, then Po went outside to sleep in the shade.

We have instant access to unlimited sensory information. There are no secret codes or rituals. There is no progressive path one must walk. Our bodies are intimately connected and familiar with everything in the cosmos. Ta-da!

Yet when we think we aren't psychic—or are psychic to a small degree—they miss most of their sensory input.

Fortunately, our bodies continue sensing regardless of our thoughts to the contrary. Lots of practice playing with extended senses will build your trust. Rules and rules regarding rules dissolve and disappear as we experience reality. Consider paying close attention to your body.

Our bodies are unified manifestations. Physical, spiritual, and all other aspects are not separate or different. Rather, we divide and classify our experience into concepts which conform to our beliefs. Fortunately, whether we believe it or not, our bodies continue to serve as meeting areas where we exchange messages.

Although my sharing can serve as a guide, it's not your experience. The only way to access your psychic nature is through personal experience.

Po just came back inside and I took a tuna sandwich break. I shared a portion with her, then she went to the cat door. After petting her I opened the door. She turned and ran back into the house. More please!

No, there were no words, but words are only one option. Animals tend to share experientially, rather than pointing toward experience with words.

(Yes, Po had another bite of tuna. *Insert the sounds of a cat purring here*)

Although irritating at times, interruptions hold abundant surprises. When I open to an interruption, fun surprises always come. Yes, without exception. If I close myself—resist the interruption—the surprises vanish. Would you like to receive the messages coming your way? Only you can choose.

I no longer camp out on interruptions or indulge selfish people. However, while feeling imposed upon, I constantly play with my attitude. Curiosity and patience allow unexpected messages to blossom. For example, a rude driver might bring messages to slow down, pay attention, and work on my patience.

Notions of our sensory capabilities limit us. Try exploring beyond what you ever thought possible. A useful guiding question for me has been: Can I really know what's best for me in any situation?

Our inner knowing begins answering our questions immediately, indeed before we even ask! Clear reception can be challenging at first, but baby steps add up. Before you know it: you're tapping into your psychic self.

Have you experienced telepathy? The day before I wrote this, a woman in a bookstore heard my thoughts.

"There was a beautiful rainbow when I came in," I said as she worked on the transaction. I thought, It might be best to have the books in a bag because of the rain.

"Did you say that you'd like the books in a bag, since it's rainy today?" she said, looking up.

"I didn't say that but I thought it. You heard me."

She looked down and smiled. "I have powers."

I smiled and left.

Although she was aware of her abilities, she thought that I spoke. My noticing surprised her—a fellow psychic! We unknowingly supported this article with surface forgetting and openness. Thanks for the tale and title!

Was it a coincidence? Perhaps. In order to learn about coincidence, you'll have to gather the pieces yourself. But first a friendly warning: it's so fun you might not stop. People will wonder what you are smiling about.

We tend to hide our psychic nature from both our self and others. For example, many "real" psychics can't read themselves. If nothing else, it makes for an interesting game.

Let's look at the future. How? Just do it. Move your attention. Think about or feel an event or time in the future. To me it usually feels like a subtle physical movement. What happens in your case? Keep playing with it as you discover it for yourself.

Anything that happens feels like a place to me. I call each occurrence an event location and multiple occurrences event fields. Time is subjective and fluid, so when we try to nail down the date and time of an event, it's like holding water in our hands. Events happen in many ways, in many places.

I'll look and write what comes. Hmm. I just looked at my house in the near future and got a blank. A blank can mean anything, but my knowing tells me that I'm saving a surprise for myself. I also have some important decisions to make. Depending on my choices, my life could change dramatically. By the way, we can simply relax and take what comes. Our knowing will present what we need, when we need it.

No effort is required to send or receive messages, and messages include all vibrations, not only thoughts and words. Once again, our knowing is our infallible guide, our sun nature to the countless planets around us. Let's ask a question of our knowing. I'll go first.

My question: Is my desire to share my experiences in writing optimal for me?

When I say this, feelings of fullness, peace, nervousness, and excitement fill my body. My knowing fills in the details. In this case, the full, peaceful feeling is the sweet spot of my path. It's a way on which I grow and live my joy. The nervousness comes from my beliefs relating to this path. By holding those beliefs, I resist walking a path of joy. It might seem silly, but we often resist joy.

The excitement comes from surprises along the way; I like surprises. Paradoxically, the more I open to my senses, the more fun surprises I experience. Do you see that I'm feeling myself on this path in what we call the future?

Now it's your turn.

What was your question about the future? Did you keep playing? It's fun to explore options directly. When we remain aware in the moment—now—our knowing guides us in relation with whatever is, was, or will be. Our game becomes mysterious and exciting. We no longer need landmarks in the future or scores kept from the past.

What about the past? Perhaps the past shifts like the present and future? After years of psychic play, our beliefs about the past may crumble and wash away.

If you care to find out, stroll along your infinite beach and surf your infinite waves.
