Animal Voices, Animal Guides
Dawn Baumann-Brunke
Art by Lissanne Lake
ISBN #: 1-56718-099-X

The following is a review I wrote about the book Awakening to Animal Voices: A Teen Guide to Telepathic Communication with All Life. This book has just be re-released under a new title: Animal Voices, Animal Guides. Here's what Dawn has to say about this new version of an old friend:

I'm happy to announce that Animal Voices, Animal Guides has finally been published!

This book is a newly revised edition of Awakening to Animal Voices, which was originally marketed to young adults.

The new version has been streamlined, given a new title and cover and design format, and also includes additional conversations with several animal groups (such as honey bees and polar bears). It is suitable for all ages. (One of the reasons the publisher decided to re-edition the book as a general title was because the material was not just for teens, but for anyone—and for everyone.)

The book not only looks at how we may open ourselves to communication with animals, but also explores how we may deepen in connection with animals, nature, and ourselves in so many other ways: through animal teachers; through unexpected meetings with animals; through healing and the death experience; through dreams, shapeshifting and merging of consciousness.

If you are interested in more, you can read several excerpts at my site.

~Dawn

If you read Dawn's first book "Animal Voices: Telepathic Communication in the Web of Life" and resonated with it - you will definitely want to get a copy of this book and 'gift' it to all of those in your life who are beginning on their path, finding their gifts and taking the first steps on their journey. Of course, people who are already well on their path will find this book extremely useful as well, but it's designed for teens (or adults) who are just starting out.

Dawn writes in a style which is not only easy to read, but also very naturally assimilates into your being. It's almost like doing the exercises becomes as natural as breathing. Your intuitive juices begin to flow and you find yourself opening up to a new way of being.

As Dawn so wonderfully expresses in her book (she is speaking about how we accept our programming from childhood to either like or dislike many living creatures - like the fly for example…)

"…we deprive ourselves of relationship. We forget that every creature in the world is unique, every meeting and opportunity to deepen in connection - not only with another living being but with our own feelings."

One of the exercises in her book teaches us the value of sound. Sound, vibration and the energy it produces… can be very healing. As a cat named Ashah once told her, "Never underestimate the power of a purr." Dawn then brings you into an exercise where you lay in the sun and purr, feeling the vibration of this sound to the tips of your fingers and down to your toes. When I did this particular exercise I found myself shape-shifting into a kitten and relaxing for what seemed to be hours… allowing all my stesses and worries to melt away in the warm, loving touch of the sun's rays. When I finished the exercise, having experienced my first cat nap I felt so calm and peaceful… it was exactly what I needed!

Not only is Dawn a regular columnist of this magazine, but she is one of my favorite writers. I have never experienced such a feeling of 'knowing' as I do every time I read her words therefore, I cannot even begin to recommend this book highly enough.
