A Spiritually Enlightening Online Magazine. July's Theme: "Beyond the Horizon" Recently I was gifted some insight into my Self from a conversation I had with one of my Guides.
Grandfather is one of my Ancestor Guides. When he calls me Inworld, I know there is something important to be discussed. He is not the type of Guide who wants to chit chat!
I've been fasting a lot during the past year - over 260 days. It really started on Mother's Day 2008 when I began my 45 day Juice Feast. Then I ate for a week or so and began another fast. One fast turns into another for me. I really love the way my body feels, how much my spirituality deepens - really how much I grow as a person when I'm fasting.
The ease of my days regarding food is such a gift. Not worrying about what to eat - instead just grabbing a juice (made fresh in my juicer) and sipping on it as I go about my day is one of my favourite things about fasting.
I've learned so much about my Self and my body. I never knew how little I could thrive on everyday. I use the word thrive instead of survive because fasting is about healing and cleansing - gifting our bodies with lots of nutrition in every glass of juice we drink - it's certainly not about depriving ourselves, that's for sure!
In the last 5 months my flow has been more forced than relaxed. I've wanted to fast, to juice my meals and enjoy the abundance of nutrition in every moment but at the same time my body has been calling for solids. This caused me to feel torn and feeling very much like I was struggling. I don't like to create struggle in my life - I prefer to go with the flow - so this wasn't resonating with me at all.
So when Grandfather called me Inworld and discussed with me about looking beyond the horizon of where I was
allowing my Self to no longer try to fit into a self-inflicted category - instead creating a space which better suited where I am and where I see my Self going - I embraced his suggestion. Actually it was more of a reminder than a suggestion because this was something he talked to me about last year.
So now I am embracing this new way of living. I juice most of meals and some I eat solid. Most of what I take in is liquid (at least three litres of juice per day) and I love this. The nutritional value of my live (unprocessed and unpastuerized) juices is a gift to my body. Not only do I maintain my high level of health, but I get the added benefit of that light feeling I have when I fast.
So if something in your life is important to you but isn't quite working in this moment (even if it worked in the past)
try looking beyond the horizon and seeing it in a different light. Perhaps you'll discover a new path for your Self in the process.
