About the Cover Aleesha Sattva One of my staff members, upon seeing the cover of this issue, wrote back to me saying "Now that's a family tree!" It made me laugh. What she doesn't know is this tree is part of our family. Although it was planted before we purchased the house and land around it, this tree is a "Grandmother Tree". Her branches open up like a womb and my kids and all the neighbourhood children loved to climb, play, sit and talk within her arms. She welcomed their energy and they embraced hers. My mom, being a child-at-heart her entire life, on one of her visits arrived at the house and immediately ran over to the tree and scampered up it. My daughter ran after her and the two of them sat in the tree — laughing and visiting until my urging brought them down. My mom passed a few years ago but her energy hasn't left my life or this magazine. She was our editor and her pursuit for the perfection keeps us striving to fill her shoes every issue.
