A Spiritually Enlightening Online Magazine. July's Theme: "Risibility" Laughter is something that I have a LOT of in my life. My husband, Parz, keeps me holding my stomach, tears streaming down my face and doing my signature laugh "laugh, wheezing intake of breath and clap". I never even knew I did this all the time until my eighteen year old son pointed it out to me one day. He said he can always tell when something is really funny by that laugh.
Parz has a way of making it impossible for me to stand up straight when he's telling me one of his stories. Fortunately he usually weaves one of these when he's driving so I'm sitting down already. They are always spontaneous and funnier than
well let's just say really funny. *wink* (Keeping this family friendly!) Even recalling them later gets me into the same state almost immediately. I start reliving how much I laughed and that's it
I'm doing my signature laugh once again.
Having a great relationship with someone is so much more than laughter though. We all know that love, commitment, devotion, and appreciation are just some of the stepping stones needed to fuel a truly epic relationship. But laughter
laughter is the battery. It's what keeps everything else charged up and ready to go. Without it our lives become boring and dull and since an average lifetime is around 30,000 days why would any of us choose to live even half of those days without a good amount of laughter? Having a relationship filled with some joy-filled-side-holding-tears-streaming moments is a real necessity.
As I'm writing this I'm reliving one story in particular. It involves bicycle cops going up the very steep hill to where we live. Just as they are cresting the hill they always get a call to go back down and across the bridge to another district. ETA 3 or 4 hours (of course - they are on bikes) and then the raconteur continues
