There are precious few books out there that have the power to bridge science and spirituality. Trust me — I've looked! Being a math and science guy and yet also a spiritual one, I have high demands when anyone tries to bridge the gap between the two. You can't simply say "quantum physics" and have me oohing and ahhing, or say "All is One" and floor me with profound insight. When I do find a book that bridges the gap, I'm thrilled.

And so I'm thrilled to be able to review Fransoise Tibika's powerful new book, Molecular Consciousness. She eases us into her ideas, using basic explanations of a few chemistry and physics ideas. (Note for those potential readers who are highly allergic to scientific writing: not to worry. It's easy to follow!) As she leads us down her train of thought, she brings in new scientific understandings that are slowly starting to make their way into the mainstream (for example, the idea that it's not just light that exhibits a dual nature of being observed as either a particle or a wave, but in fact, all matter does so as well). It's only in the last quarter of the book that we start to see a picture emerge, where our bodies, in their roles as chemical factories, are also determining our emotions, our outlooks, our philosophies, which in turn help determine other chemical reactions. Science and spirituality become one and the same.

The book is a brilliant read and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a science/spirituality bridge.
