About the Cover Featuring: Stephanie Pui-Mun Law ![]() ![]() Stephanie Pui-Mun Law is a freelance artist; whose work consists of fantasy, the Otherworld, and the surreal. She has been illustrating since 1996, and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1998 with a double BA degree in Fine Arts and Computer Science. Much of her inspiration comes from mythology, legend, and folklore; and her art seeks to find a whimsical kernel in reality. She has also been greatly influenced by the art of the Impressionists, Pre-Raphaelites, and Surrealists, along with current popular fantasy artists. What she tries to convey with her art is not simply fantasy, but the fantastic, the sense of wonder, and that which is sacred. As far as technique goes, her usual media include pencil, pen-and-ink, intaglio printing, watercolour, acrylic, and digital (Photoshop). Her preferred medium at this time is watercolour. In addition to painting into the twilight hours, Stephanie dances Flamenco at any spare moment, plays piano, and burrows through her books like a true bookworm. Influences from her music and dance are also scattered throughout her art, for she finds inspiration in everything around her.
