Meditate A Moment
featuring: Aleesha Stephenson

Grounding ourselves whenever we meditate is so important. It assists us to stay connected while we travel to other dimensions within our mind, or other worlds. When we meditate and are not grounded, we feel light-headed and have a hard time as our mind will often wander rather than opening to the meditation. Then when we are finished meditating it can be hard to walk or even finish a sentence! So please remember to ground yourself before beginning any meditation.

Let's begin.

Take three deep cleansing breaths, IN-spiration and exhale all the stresses of your day. Again, IN-spiration and releasing any tension in your body and one more… IN-spiration and exhale any residual negativity.

Visualize yourself standing before a large solid door. This is your entrance Inworld. A place where shapeshifting is natural. Reach out with your hand and touch the door. Feel the texture… reach your hands up to the top, along the sides and down to the bottom. As your hands touch the bottom of the door you notice a small hole in the ground which tunnels under the door and as you look at it - it becomes bigger and bigger until you are much smaller that it is. Looking up you see that it isn't the hole which got bigger, but you who got smaller!

Begin to make your way down this tunnel. As you are no longer in human form, you are not simply walking on two legs to delve deeper and deeper into the earth. Feel your new body as it moves effortlessly through the earth, making tunnels where there are none so you can easily cross over to the other side of the door and into a new world.

Your tunnel opens up on the side of a hill and as you come out a bird swoops down and takes you into it's beak as a tasty snack for it's young. You are carried up high into the sky and as you get closer to the nest you can hear the young birds calling to their Mother. She stuffs you down the throat of an eager hatchling and you are taken, deeply into it's body - you become part of this bird.

With this meal you are now strong enough to fly. You stretch out your wings and take a leap of faith, leaving the security of your nest - you trust. Simply trust.

Stretching your wings you find your balance and begin flying with great ease. The sun is bright and clouds are few as you travel this landscape as it unfolds below you.

There is a party taking place in a grove of trees and you decide to fly down to investigate it. Landing on a branch you watch a young girl standing in the center of a circle, women dancing around her - celebrating her transformation into womanhood. You fly down, circling her head feeling drawn to join in.

This is seen as a great omen and the girl's face lights up with the knowledge of the gift you bring. You fly around her body, in circles - spiralling up higher and higher until she can no longer see you, but the memory of your gift will never leave her. You have touched her life.

Flying off and enjoying the warmth of the sun you find a group of birds feasting on some fish. The salmon have spawned and their dying bodies have been given to you as a gift from Mother Earth. You settle down near a fish and begin to feast.

As you take the flesh of the salmon into your body you know the spirit, the energy of this being is now becoming a part of who you are and you feel transformed. You feel a determination to succeed which you never have before and you know it's a gift from the salmon. Stopping and honouring this moment with the realization of every action, every thought, every choice you make affects others whether you want to or not… sit quietly and allow this to become a part of who you are. The magnitude of this moment, of this realization is acknowledged by your body, mind and soul.

When you are ready, fly back towards the door and as you land in front of it, you feel your human feet touching the soft ground. Reaching with your hand you turn the handle and walk back through the door.

Now wiggle your toes… and your shoulders… gently bringing yourself back to this world, so you can carry on with your day, more relaxed and focused… knowing the importance of the circle you live in. Everything - every thing - affects every thing. The way you live your life will change because of this understanding and Mother Earth smiles and cherishes you equal to how much you cherish Her. Walk your talk, live your life with honesty and honour the interconnectedness of all.
