A Spiritually Enlightening Online Magazine. March's Theme: "Action and Inaction" It's all about finding the balance point. There always has been and there will forever be opposites. Some people think only in black and white; it's either empty or full, no in-between. Well, let me tell you, as a gray thinker, there's A LOT in-between. If you think in extremes, you could be doing yourself and others an enormous injustice. Flexible thinking is not only healthier than rigid thinking, but much smarter. Just think how much you are expanding your mind by opening it to more universal knowledge. Say goodbye to rigid thinking. Smile. Everything is going to be okay, whether you are evangelical or atheist, Hispanic or Hmong, a doctor or a judge, a truck driver or a nurse
you get the idea.
If you learn to open your mind and heart to the silent whisperings of the Holy God-Spirit Who lives in the silent sanctuary within each one of us, you will live your life with synchronicity, with intuition. Being in the right place at the right time. Don't you, after a tragedy, wonder how certain people were spared?
A prime example coming to mind, of course, is the nine-eleven tragedy. Why did one man decide to run an errand before going to work? Why did a woman decide to walk her child to school that morning, and catch a later train into the city? No policeman stepped in front of them and told them where to go and what to do. No. Though consciously, they might not realize it, they allowed the God-Spirit intuition to guide them and their actions.
Call this synchronicity, intuition, or being in the right place at the right time. It doesn't matter. It is what it is. Life is what it is. One day, you will have very strong feelings about trees, for example. You love them. But a tall robust tree happens to fall on your car as it sits in your driveway. Do you choose to love them still or hate them? Or maybe, just maybe, you come closer to balanced thinking about trees. You realize they have many uses as nature's air conditioner, as furniture, toys, decoration, paper, fruit-bearing, and many more uses. So you decide not to go out after all and chop all the trees in your yard down. See what I mean about how the balance point shifts? And, this applies to almost every possible noun you can think of - car, house, cousins, dining room set, toothbrush, ethnicities, etc.
Or maybe, you've prayed and asked for something very specific. Let's say you want your child to be accepted into a well-respected day care program. It doesn't happen. You wait and wait and wait some more. Finally, you get disgusted and give up on your Holy God-Spirit. You decide to take action. You spread an unfounded rumour about the day care, and one of the parents pulls their child out. Your child gets in. But there are consequences to our actions, and eventually the owner of the day care will discover who started the rumour. And, out your child goes, never to be allowed in again. If you had just waited, perhaps, someone will have to move because their husband got a job in a different city. And, they have to pull their child out of your chosen day care centre. Or maybe, your child wasn't meant to go to that day care centre. Who knows? A better one might be in the making, unbeknownst to you. Forcing your will is not always the answer. Who knows? With patience, the Holy Spirit can work miracles.
On the other hand, there is that saying, "God only helps those who help themselves." How to resolve these two apparently disparate philosophies? You think about options which is perceived to be inaction. You trust, which again appears to be inaction. You brainstorm with a few people to try and find kind actions which would build positive karma rather than mean-spirited actions which would build negative karma. But before you take any action at all, remember to think about the consequences of your actions. There are ALWAYS consequences, some better than others. Forcing your will can have devastating outcomes, not soon to be forgotten by anyone involved.
It might be better to trust, to wait as you listen to your intuition, to the Holy God-Spirit within, so you are sure you are acting synchronously with life. Sometimes, it's best spiritually, to just let it go, release it into the ethers. Ask yourself, will this be important ten years from now? Probably not. God bless you and yours.
Cheryl, from Michigan, says, "Having had Multiple Sclerosis for almost thirty years, I've learned much about adapting and squeezing joy out of life. Therefore, I am a metaphysical minister who believes God is in everything, everywhere. And, the Sweet God-Spirit surely lives
in my little Maya-puppy, who kept me connected with life after my youngest son was killed in
a freak automobile accident ten years ago."
