Sunshine and Rainbows by Dj Brown The centre isn't a place; it's a state of being… It is the moment between night and dawn, the time between the beating heart and the breath of life; it is the time between looking and seeing. Once within an age, an elder and treasured granddaughter sat on the porch. A child cuddled at grandmother's feet, she looked up into the elder's eyes and learned much that quiet moment. She could feel the old woman's spirit holding her in an embrace. Loving her always, guiding her by example and lighting her way with knowledge from a journey long traveled, hard won, patiently woven with the irresistible joy of life, kind of like her angel. Listening with her heart, as children do, she heard the beat of grandmother's heart. Love, love… love, love… love, love. She closed her eyes and saw what she could see. The Golden Light she knew well, for she came from the Light. It pulses in the same rhythm as grandmother's heart, or was grandmother's heart beating to the Golden Light? Like the old grandfather's clock in the parlour, grandmother's heart beat, rest, beat with a sort of rest in between. The child wondered was all life as such. She looked to the cows in the pasture and saw them chewing their cud and saw the chew, rest, chew rest. Her attention went to the bird, lifting from her nest, and saw again wings lift fall, lift fall, lift fall. Everywhere she looked. Everything she felt. Everything she knew beat to the cadence. Grandmother's hand ran through her hair. She spoke as such… "Child, you and I and everything you see and don't see and are as One. You know of the Golden Light, the Blessed Breath of Life, the Beloved. Earth mother which embraces our human experience, the sun, moon, stars and many universes and even the cosmos itself is of One. The cadence of action, rest, action is the Beloved's way of giving us our free will. It is in that rest moment we decide what will come next. We are always given a time in which we choose. This is life. It is the way of the Golden Light. You know this feeling. Will you share or will you keep to yourself? Will you help or will you walk away? Do you choose kindness or raise your voice in self-serving anger? Granddaughter you know your angel. She is with you and mine is with me. Our angels are the little voices we hear. Some call them consciousness. We know them as our guardians. Our angels also flow in the same cadence of existence. They can guide us in those pauses between action and inaction to make the right choice for us and the universal good. Child When you look in the mirror What did I see? Do you see an angel standing beside thee? Wings folded round you… gentle and kind. Whispering so softly, my name is Peace of Mind. Are you there standing still and safe? Wrapped in her wings, your spirit glowing in her grace. Close your eyes to see what you might find… Ah, an illuminating site. Peace is there… Her wings wrapped tight. Always with you… by day and night. Even now as you open your eyes she is there. As time passes and the cadence of life flows through you, remember like the grandfather clock in the parlour, you choose. As the pendulum swings down and rests what will you choose? As the pendulum is pulled up by gravity will you also be pulled along in life the same way, with no say in your actions? If so child, you give up what the Beloved Breath of Life so lovingly gave… freedom. Remember you are safe in choosing with your angel by your side. Sunshine or rainbows, blue sky to see, choices and options you are free to be thee." Namaste'   A mystical curiosity about nature and the ability to paint pictures with words gives this gifted writer, public speaker and artist the ability to serve and share with those she walks her journey with. Dj Brown earned a degree in metaphysical ministry and counselling. She was born a sensitive to spirits and finds her abilities enhanced by her spirit guides and earthly teachers. Dj describes her life goal as one of further developing the tapestry of her spirit to reflect the compassionate, loving Source of her being.
