Medicine Buddha
Jonathan Goldman

As soon as this CD begins, and the Master begins his chant, my hubby immediately falls into a deep sleep. He's never heard past the chant in the opening… too bad for him!

I am blessed to listen to this CD, not only at night in bed but also during my daily meditation. I chant along with the Dancing Buddha and I must say, this CD makes me feel so blissed out, happy, lighter, in tune… well I could just go on and on but I think you get my point.

The Medicine Buddha is visualized as a dark blue monk and is seated in a full cross-legged position. His left hand, open in his lap, is holding a begging bowl filled with medicinal nectar and fruit. His right rests upon his knee with palm facing outwards; granting blessing and holding a stem of the myrobalan plant (renowned as the greatest of all healing plants). The Medicine Buddha embodies the power of all the Buddhas to overcome suffering.

Through the Medicine Buddha you may receive an antidote to the three poisons; ignorance, attachment and hatred.

As with other CDs which Jonathan Goldman has created, Medicine Buddha begins with the Tibetan Buddhist Homage courtesy of the Venerable Lama Tashi (the Principal Chant Master of the Drepung Loseling Monastery in India). His deep tones resonate within you, filling your auric field and physical being.

Jonathan provides so much information in the insert and it really is a must read. He explains the chants and shares with us how to pronounce them so we can chant along.

Honestly this review could be so much longer… there is just so much I love about this CD - but I'm going to leave it in your hands (and ears) and recommend strongly you purchase a copy for yourself.
