Ogam: The Celtic Oracle of the Trees
by Paul Rhys Mountfort
ISBN #:089281919-7

If I had to recommend just one book on the ogam, (or ogham), this would be it! Paul Rhys Mountfort presents his information in a scholarly, fascinating, and yet easy-to-understand way.

The book is divided into three parts:

'Ogamlore', covers the history of the druidic alphabet and folklore, which helps deepen our understanding of each ogam and it's associated tree.

'Ogamfews', contains the actual ogams and their descriptions and is very useful as a quick reference to each ogam.

'Ogamcasting', teaches how to make and use a set of ogams and discusses the theory and practice of divination.

The book is rounded out by a pronunciation guide and extensive (and impressive) bibliography and references sections.

For those looking for an easy way to quickly read the ogam, the ogamfew section of this book will not disappoint.

For those wishing to go further, who long to understand the essence of the ancient Celtic ogam, and for those who want to use them today as a living, evolving divination tool, this is a book not to be missed!
