The Autism Acceptance Project is a not-for-profit organisation working towards achieving acceptance and tolerance in society. TAAProject is very proud to present The Joy of Autism: Redefining Ability and Quality of Life, an event that will feature a gallery exhibition of international autistic artists at the Lonsdale Gallery from 5 October to 5 November 2006, as well as a lecture series by renowned academics, researchers and autistic people held on October 10, 11, 12, 14 at the Al Green Theatre at the Miles Nadal JCC Toronto.

The Autism Acceptance Project is also eager to promote a new artistic call for submissions of poems, short stories or personal stories about autism called Autspoken. Autspoken was inspired by an autistic woman from Topeka, Kansas, Barbara Moran, who sent in her life story and some photographs, which will be exhibited at the Lonsdale Gallery. Winning entrants will receive $50 (CDN) and their work will be displayed at the Lonsdale Gallery in Toronto during the month of October 2006.
