A Spiritually Enlightening Online Magazine. September's Theme: "Freedom" The other day a milky quartz wand named White Flame offered to play. The game was simple: move the stone wherever I felt pain until the pain was gone.
For several minutes I held White Flame's multi-terminated end (25+ points on one end) against my stomach aimed at a sharp pain in my lower back. When the pain faded I switched hands—it felt optimal to do so—and lay the stone lengthwise against a dull ache in my collarbone. When my collarbone ache faded I again switched hands to hold White Flame horizontally at my side against my waist, forming a "T" with my body.
I continued in this way, eyes closed, trusting my body to guide me. White Flame shared images showing its preferred positioning, which I fine-tuned by how I felt. Together we found perfect alignment almost instantly. Aches and pains dissolved quickly with each new placement.
As my body relaxed it expanded our pain-following game: I moved White Flame to an itch, which faded. Then to another itch, which faded. Next to a sharp, pin-point surface pain, which faded as well. Then to a tingly placement several inches above my skin.
Your skin joins what feel like inner and outer realities, but all is one reality, White Flame said.
I felt immense complexity within and outside my body, inner and outer space defined by my skin, the beach where land met water.
Our movement became a rhythm. Then my body itched in one place while aching in another. I picked up Excalibur, a laserwand lying nearby, and held a stone against each location. The process repeated, but followed no discernible pattern. The double locations worked together. For example with White Flame on a neck twitch, Excalibur covering a light, sharp pain in my ribs, flowing, tingly feelings alternated as the two areas balanced.
Sensations led my hands along my body, the stones enjoying the ride. I smiled as I relaxed into the rhythm. Most sensations became neutral or pleasant, with an occasional painful release. Now and then I felt a sharp pain in the callous on my right big toe. This signaled release and healing. All was well.
Later I laughed at the sight of White Flame and Excalibur lying on the floor. I had laid the stones down and gone on with my day without realizing it, a sign that our game left me balanced and refreshed.
You might use this game to help with healing work directed at a particular area as well. Let's say you have lower back pain with occasional shooting pain down your right leg. Pick out stones to whom you feel attracted, whether they sparkle, send energy or just make you feel good. Sit or lie down and place the stones according to images received from the stones and how your body feels. If a stone feels like it's in the right place, it probably is. Perhaps you feel best with a quartz sphere between your legs, a laserwand against your right thigh and a yard rock in your hands. The advantage to such play is an effortless, custom-fit healing every time.
I use this same method to help others. The more I trust my feelings and the images that come, the more effective the healing session. This is how I work with inner direction, which complies with the needs of others. Most of all I don't have to work alone—playmates fill my life.
While helping others, I usually feel areas in myself that resonate with their ailments. For example, when I work with the growth on our cat Popurrie's neck, she reminds me about my neck issues. It's been slow going, but the lump is both softer and smaller. My neck holds less tension; my voice has cleared and strengthened. Hot spots whose intensity has increased yearly have begun to cool. Po and I are holding issues from many lifetimes in our necks; it's taking long, patient work to heal.
Healing comes naturally as we explore and play together. I've laughed and learned so much with clients that I almost feel I should pay them. Then I could forward my bills to clients!
In the same way that ancient Chinese physicians were paid only while the patient was healthy, what if we were paid only while we were open, friendly and playful? With love, the one universal currency I've encountered, that's exactly how we play. Since love is unlimited and all loving, we can only limit the flow by closing down and pretending to be separate.
