Illuminations An Editorial by Aleesha Stephenson What does it mean to Inter-be? What does that term mean to us as a society, as an individual and to our role on this planet? This is the question that was asked of our writers this issue and I hope you enjoy the diversity of the answers you will discover within the pages of this issue. Thich Nhat Hanh shares: "The Buddha recommends we live our daily life, seeing everything in the light of interbeing. A flower cannot be by itself alone. A flower can only inter-be with the sunshine, with the rain, with the earth. So "to be" means "to inter-be." When we live the wisdom of interning in every minute, then we will not be caught in our small self. We will see that we are everywhere." I'd like to invite you all to read this issue's meditation column. Parzival Sattva has agreed to lovingly take over this column and I believe you are going to resonate deeply with his energy. This is, by far, my most cherished part of the magazine. The love and care I have put into these over the years—the energy and flow it brings to the magazine—are all so important to me.
