A Reiki Master Teacher, who lives her Buddhist, Shamanic, with many eclectic Pagan beliefs, she home-schools two of her three spiritually enlightened children as her eldest has graduated and moved on to the school of life. Aleesha has been on her spiritual path for over 20 years. She began reading Tarot and being attuned with the first degree of Reiki. Her first Reiki clients were animals. She worked with cats, dogs and horses, assisting them by communicating their thoughts and wishes to their human companions. Since then, she has worked with many human Reiki clients, and she also provides readings using Tarot, Scrying, and communicating with people’s Guides and Angels.

Aleesha was also blessed by becoming a Reiki Master/Teacher in 1998. Since that time she has lived her “Reiki Principles” and attuned students from all over the world. I am a Reiki Master Teacher. This means I've gone through the traditional 4 levels of Reiki, studying it's principles and using the energy in different and unique ways. I've been blessed with having this wonderful healing tool in my life since 1989. At this time I'm discovering that there are higher levels of Reiki and becoming attuned to them as well. This is a journey into Self which I never knew existed and it's an honour to be experiencing this level of enlightenment. These higher levels are brought to me by The Goddess and my Ancestor Guides. They began coming through the re-attunements I was being given by my student Seva (who is a Reiki Master Teacher) and now they often come simply when I am ready. I am told which level I'm being attuned to and what it's purpose is. At this point I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with these higher levels, only that they exist and we cannot choose to receive them, they are chosen for us.

When I first discovered Reiki shortly after my daughter lived through spinal meningitis in March of 1989, I was spent; emotionally, physically and spiritually. Empty.

At a mini psychic fair outside a church I was asking a bookstore owner if he knew of a book which could assist me in… well, I didn't know what. But I knew I needed something. He asked me to sit down and let him channel 5 minutes of Reiki into my crown chakra (head).

I couldn't believe what I was feeling! This tingling, warm loving sensation was moving down my head, into my shoulders and into my heart. When he took his hands away the first words out of my mouth was "How can I do that?" I immediately signed up for an upcoming class.

Since that day my life has changed dramatically. I have found myself spiritually. I have greater joy and happiness as well. Reiki has changed every aspect of who I am and how I am.

Before Reiki I was vague, confused, a caretaker and very unsure of my esteem and worth. I never said what I meant in fear of alienating someone, so I just agreed with everyone all the time. I was never 'one' person. Rather I was different with everyone I was with depending on what 'role' I played, what 'person' I was with them. I never wanted my friends to get together because I never knew who to be!

Reiki grounded me. It gave me a center. Somewhere to begin, somewhere to plant myself and to grow from. It wasn't a miracle pill for change but it was a catalyst and opportunity. It brought things into my life, I believe, I never would have been open to before. 'Life' was flowing through me for the first time.

I began making changes in my life. Living the "Principles of Reiki" and as I lived these principles one moment at a time, I found myself changing into a person who I really liked and could actually respect!

What is Reiki? Well, "Rei" is Universal Life Energy, and "Ki" is Chi. Dr. Usui rediscovered the sacred sanskrit symbols in the 1890s. In the 1900s he attuned Dr. Hayashi and then in 1939 he attuned Master Hawayo Takata. She attuned 22 masters. I am under the lineage of Phyllis Lee Fukumoto - Master Takata's granddaughter.

Becoming attuned (whether hands on or by distance) to this energy means your chakras recognize the vibration of Reiki and you can channel the energy with a mere thought or intention. There is no need to 'get focused' etc. Your conscious or sub-conscious mind only needs to have the desire to channel and VOILA you are!

I'm hoping to assist each one of my students to feel the gentle loving touch of Reiki. It may change your life today, or it may just plant a seed for another day… As my mother always says, "Plant your shade trees, you never know when you'll need them!"

Much of what Aleesha learns comes from her Guides and Angels. She believes very strongly that open, honest communication is needed with our Spirit Helpers and Ancestor Guides to achieve enlightenment and to walk our path. She assists students in creating that channel of communication for themselves through the use of Reiki and meditation.



Nothing about Aleesha is stagnant for long. She loves to grow and find new passions for herself. Gardening is one of them. Assisting Mother Earth to compost and flourish is one of her many delights. Writing is another, she has been writing articles and a regular column for Body Mind Spirit Magazine since it’s inception until the October 2003 issue when she left to embark on a new challenge of creating a new online publication Timeless Spirit Magazine.

Aleesha was taught the art of Ear Coning by a Buddist Monk in Vancouver B.C. She has coned many ears, and also teaches this art.

Past Life Regressions and Soul Retrievals are just a few of the other services she offers for her clients and students. During a reading, if a soul retrieval is required, she provides it. If the clients need to learn how to ground themselves, learn to meditate etc., she teaches them the basics. Assisting people with their paths and teaching enlightenment is Aleesha’s path.

Aleesha’s daughter says “My mom likes to teach people to fish, rather than just giving them a fish.” Aleesha prefers to teach people how to do all the services she provides so they can heal themselves and heal others. Private and group lessons are available.

Please note Aleesha is no longer teaching meditation. After 7 years of classes, she is ready to move onto something new. She thanks all her past students and invites them to spend more time in meditation with their friends and families.

This is one of the first lessons Dr. Usui learned after being blessed with the miracle of Reiki in the early 1800’s, and it’s one of the many things Aleesha is emphatic about.

When you are constantly only giving and giving, and there is no energy coming back to you, you become empty. Exchange is vital to our growth and health. Money is one of the forms of exchange Aleesha accepts. She is open to other forms of exchange as well, although please remember an exchange only works if what is being exchanged is desired by both recipients. Some people’s exchange with her is money and here are the guidelines.

What is a hands on session compared to a distant one?

Your hands on session takes place in my home but if you are not available for a hands on session or if you live too far away then I can send the sessions to you, for you to take when the time is right. Both methods are equal in energy although distant attunements often take longer because you don't have my hands bringing you back when you are done. Rather you sit in the energy until you are done. Many of my students prefer a distant attunement to a hands on one. I know I do (for myself).

I am most fortunate, for on my life's path I have met someone who will teach me, guide me, love me, (regardless of my perfections and all my imperfections)… She is my Reiki Master Teacher (M/T).

One of the main things she has taught me is to stop rescuing people. By all means help, guide, talk, teach, listen, learn, love and care for them; but do not rescue them. For me this was, and still is, a difficult lesson to learn; to distinguish between helping and rescuing.

To rescue is to take on a person's karma by 'handling' the entire situation for them. Taking over and 'fixing' their problem. This is their lesson so they must find their own way out, they must be responsible for themselves. Learning where they are, how they got there, the part they played in creating this situation in their life… is their lesson. We are only brought into their lives to show them a way of repairing, learning, healing, and growing. We are not the controllers of their destiny. Sometimes people gladly hand over their problems to anyone willing to take them on.

Back in my 'self-thought hero' days when I was rescuing, I would jump into peoples lives and take over for them… fix it all up, only to end up in a mess myself. And then these people would go off and re-create the same scenario, only with different participants. Ironically, I figured out I was doing the same thing, jumping in and rescuing person after person. This was a lesson I had to learn, as I found myself again and again in a disheavelled heap after another rescue attempt (even though I called it 'helping').

To help is to enlighten, as to how they are creating these events in their life so it won't happen again. How many times have you done the same thing over and over again? So a crucial part of being there for others is to discuss why they have done and re-done this.

Assisting is to shine light and bring clarity to the situation for the person in need (be it yourself or another). This requires the skill of detachment; something else my loving M/T taught me. Stand back and don't become too emotionally involved in the outcome of other people's scenarios. It IS their choice after all, their life. Trust in the Universe/God/Goddess all will be as it should… perfect in this moment.

  • Be worthy of being trusted by others - live in honesty.

The first attunement I received was hands-on from a Master/Teacher here in the Netherlands, so Aleesha wasn't my first Reiki Master. Then why change to another M/T? I think its important my Reiki M/T is someone I respect and with whom I want and can have a relationship, because Reiki isn't just about getting an attunement (or two, three, four). Reiki is a way of life, and this implies your M/T will be someone who shares part of your (spiritual) growth. With Aleesha I do have this relationship. I am very happy I chose to become one of her students. She is a great teacher, she has and will always assist me in every way possible.

I have received all 4 reiki attunements (M/T level) and some re-attunements by distance. I can assure you - my experiences of receiving the distant attunements have been even "stronger" than the one I received hands-on.

My oldest daughter and I are both quite interested in alternative health, healing and all matters spiritual. My daughter found a class for First Degree Reiki at the local recreation centre and we registered for it. Neither of us knew anything about Reiki but were open to learning. At the first class we were warmly welcomed by Aleesha. The class was intimate - four of us - which was very nice. My daughter and I found it to be a phenomenal experience. Aleesha kept us on track. Her classes started and finished on time. It was without doubt the most enlightening and relaxing class I've ever taken. Aleesha has a lovely sense of humour and an extensive background in healing. No matter how stressed I was from the days (weeks) events, I always left our little group feeling completely relaxed and at ease. I was enormously sad when the course was over. Aleesha has been very generous in making herself available for questions or comments over the years.

I don't use Reiki as much as I could and have fallen out of practice with it over the years, but when I received a treatment on the final night from one of my classmates, a chronic aching back was relieved for 10 days or more. Reiki works! Take an attunement - be better for it. Be changed for it!

Ok first off I want to say thank you so so much for not only sharing your gift with me but for being ever so yielding to the call that is on your life.

Working through the chakras was so powerful most nights, a few nights I think I fell asleep a little to soon, but even then my sleep was so so peaceful.

The most wonderful part was that somewhere along the end of the first week or the beginning of the second it dawned on me that I had never held or touched my own body for any length of time. You know showers are really quick, rub here splash there in then I'm out. But spending twenty minutes with my hands over my womb, on my breast or near my heart was so so powerful.

Through REIKI I learned unconditional love for self. Through that love I've become better at loving my husband and children. I've been more tender, patient and conscientuous of the details that make a difference when relating to others.

I've also become more aware of the urgency of realy BE- ING and becoming a healer and the desperate need of other women and their families. I've been more appreciative of the spirit within and deliberate in my efforts to seek out the divine feminine.

I'm more confident today, more self assured. Spiritually stronger with a keener sense of purpose. THANK YOU FOR THAT GIFT!!!! Yeah all this happened through my 21 days of REIKI.

I've also diminished my fear of having an upcoming surgery. Next week I'll being having my fertility restored . I'm ecstatic and fearless about the procedure and ever welcoming this renewal. Using REIKI all week long to prepare and immediately there after to expedite my recoverya nd healing. We'll be trying to conceive soon there after too… I'm 39 and greatful to still be experiencing my moontime.

Still growing, learning and studying. Looking forward to a reattunement of even level 2 in the near future. Working on a new alter in my bedroom, kind of a sacred place for pray and reflection and of course HEALING TOUCH.
